Central scheme

National Health Authority

Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY

What the scheme does

A public health-assurance scheme implemented through the National Health Authority framework.

Who it is for

Families covered under the scheme’s official beneficiary database and current state implementation. Eligibility is checked through the official beneficiary-identification route; it is not a universal health-insurance enrolment.

Current benefit

Health cover of up to ₹5 lakh per family per year for eligible hospitalisation under the scheme framework, usable at empanelled hospitals. The official beneficiary portal determines coverage and current state implementation.

How to access it

Check eligibility through the official PM-JAY beneficiary route or authorised facilitation channel. Eligible beneficiaries use their verified scheme identity at an empanelled hospital; do not rely on unofficial enrolment agents.

Conditions to know

Beneficiary identity and eligibility are verified through the official system; accepted documents and state processes can differ. Check the official portal before visiting a hospital.

Exam answer in one line

Ministry of Health & Family Welfare

Mission Indradhanush

What the scheme does

An immunisation initiative focused on reaching children and pregnant women who are missed or partially covered by routine immunisation.

Who it is for

It focuses on children below two years and pregnant women who are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated, especially in low-coverage and hard-to-reach areas.

Current benefit

Vaccines under the Universal Immunisation Programme are provided free at government health facilities, sub-centres and outreach sessions. Mission Indradhanush is a catch-up drive to reach people who missed routine immunisation.

How to access it

No separate benefit form is required. Check the routine immunisation schedule with an ASHA, Anganwadi worker, ANM, PHC, CHC or government hospital and attend the listed session with the available vaccination record.

Conditions to know

Carry the child’s or beneficiary’s available immunisation record when possible. Eligibility comes from the vaccination schedule and missed-dose status; vaccines are given through government service points.

Exam answer in one line

Remember: catch-up immunisation under UIP; children below two and pregnant women; launched in December 2014; free vaccines through public health delivery.
